Finally, I just installed the door art commission for Zeus! This one has been on my plate for a while. It's my version of "Clash of the Titans" with Richard playing Perseus, 4-icze playing Pegasus and Uni playing Bubo the Owl. Medussa and the Kraken don't stand a chance. The art is on the stock room door. Thanks Richard!

I'd like to thank everyone who came out and supported the Deep Gallery Walk. Kettle filled up from time to time and Avenue Arts showed off the first 3 Uni's to hit the streets.
My work will be at Kettle art until the 27th so if you didn't make it due to weather you have the next two weeks to check out the work.

This is the very first time Uni's been made available. Each one is completely on of a kind! For now he will only be for sale at the show. I'll be at Kettle Art from 6ish-9:30pm and will make my way to Avenue Arts at 10:00pm-everyone leaves. Again this is the 13th and both galleries are full or surprises, trust me!

I along with my boys at Kettle Art have brand new, never before seen custom skate decks for this show. I'll be there ready to party and I live in the building so Keep an eye on me. Anyway, Guapo Skateboards presents an evening of spectacular art, style, skateboarding, and infinite fun benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children, St.Philips School & Community Center, and The Dallas Arts Community.

The evening will begin with Cocktails & Hors-d'oeuvres and showcase 120 skateboards designed/painted by either a celebrity artist, a St.Philips student, a graphic designer, or a local artist. Throughout the evening guests will have the opportunity to bid on and purchase their favorite artist�s skateboard & other auction items.

The evenings proceeds will help support the Texas Scottish Rite Children�s Hospital. TSRHC treats Texas children with orthopedic conditions, such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders and limb length differences, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia.

Following the Art Auction, the winning student design from the St.Philips School & Community Center will be announced and receive �The Art of Skateboarding� 2008 Award. The winner will also receive a US savings bond to use towards their college fund.

The evenings speakers will be Founder of Guapo Skateboards Al Coker and Jon Comer Honorary Chairman/Professional Skateboarder.

Recover Deep Ellum Mural Series 2nd Wave!

This Saturday, May 24th, we'll hold an awards ceremony at the Prophet Bar from 7-10pm to announce the winners of this year's mural project. First place will receive $1000, second place $500, and $250 for third. The Happy Bullets and Baby Ruthless will perform and we will have a champagne toast in honor of all the artists. The Dallas Observer Street Team will also be in the house. This event will be free to the public.

DEEP ELLUM MURAL PROJECT

Kettle Art is hosting the Re*Cov*Er muralist competition awards along with the Deep Ellum Association, DEEP - The Deep Ellum Enrichment Project, KNON 89.3 FM, the Dallas Observer and the Deep Ellum Foundation. Expect to see over a dozen new murals in the area paying tribute to area musicians. This project is spearheaded by Kettle cofounder Frank Campagna and will features works by Janet Antich, Jason Barnett, Ronnie Bates, Amber Campagna, Brian Crawford, Jim Cox, Jennifer D.
